Bringing tags to the next level

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Tags been around for some time now, at least in the current form. They have not evolved that much and they are not quite doing the job we need them to. Since we are pushing the envelop on data amount, believe us even google will look a bit pale when we are up and running, tags is not enough. In its current state/form at least. So we have to bring tags on steroids to this party.

Problem is; we don´t yet know what that is. So right now, we are not able to tell what a wwwraal-tag is. But it sure is something that will make you say; Oh, wow, why didn´t I think of that.

The fight for the plug-in space

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

From top to button:

  • Del.icio.us
  • wwwraal plug-in (very beta)
  • Google toolbar
  • Facebook

My guess is that I´m not the most plug-in addicted guy on the internet, but it´s getting a bit tight. Fact is my plug-ins plus tabs is using some 150 pixels of the 930 pixels i got for the web on my 20 inch Cinema Display. We really need to re-consider the usage of plug-in or at least find an alternative for users who just can´t stand another.

But still; if you want to really start changing the way people use the internet, the presence in the browser might just be a pre requisite… or at least we thought so for a while… Since we are working in the infrastructure of the internet, far from the web layer, we can add stuff to the UI that will make some huge differences in what people expect from a site.

The interaction will be driven by the users with tools and services developed by wwwraal.com and third parties using our APIs. Sounds fun? You bet!
