Take care of that mess please!

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Some of us are the type of people that keeps things in order and some of us aren´t. It´s as simple as that. I´m not one of them i.e. the everything-in-order-people. My physical desktop is a mess and my computer folder structure is a mess. From time to time I take the bull by the horns and tidy it up, but then, a month later. Same mess. So, wwwraal need to take care of this.

Our services will be something people use everyday for years to come. There will be a decent amount of data to keep track of, not super-amounts, but still. Automation is a must. Just think about it; somebody who constantly keep tidying up behind you. For each day you mess it up that somebody will spend your sleeping hours to put everything in order again.

Well, a touch of Utopia of course, but we will take order to a new level in areas where people really have problems today. Well, keep tuned and we will enlighten you.

We sure have done some progress

I sitting on my commuter train, with my Turbo 3G modem. It feels a bit 1995 trying to connect to the internet via the good old telephone icon on my Powerbook. But, hey, from 14.4 kbits over the phone line to 1.5 mbits over the mobile network in a bit over ten years, thats nice. So what will wwwraal bring to this party? A lot we hope.

Being mobile has its ups and downs, coverage is a bit so so, bandwidth is not what we are getting used to over the wlan at home and those thirty seconds to connect feels like forever. (and acctually, I was supposed to post this yesterday, but got no connection). For our returning readers you know that wwwraal always claims to have some revolutionary technology solving a bunch of issues of the web experience and of course we also have something in store for mobile user.

As always we can´t get in to the specifics, but we can assure you that a thing called ACP will really change your surf patterns and the user experience of mobile computing. Thanks for now and stay tuned.

Coping with the realization of a vision

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

We are coding. A couple of thousand hours left before we are close to our great vision. New ideas always in the heads of our super creative crew. Focusing on existing development is a Must. Anyone who thinks the idea and vision of a new product or service is the hard thing to come up with are so wrong.

The realization and keeping that first enthusiasm up for 1000, 2000, 4000 hours. Thats the hard part.

We are in a wonderful part of development. The features are getting in to the GUI and we are able to start using the stuff we have invented. Bugs is something that is out of focus and developing as much as possible is in focus. To all of you developers and visionaries out there, keep up the good work!

The fight for the plug-in space

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

From top to button:

  • Del.icio.us
  • wwwraal plug-in (very beta)
  • Google toolbar
  • Facebook

My guess is that I´m not the most plug-in addicted guy on the internet, but it´s getting a bit tight. Fact is my plug-ins plus tabs is using some 150 pixels of the 930 pixels i got for the web on my 20 inch Cinema Display. We really need to re-consider the usage of plug-in or at least find an alternative for users who just can´t stand another.

But still; if you want to really start changing the way people use the internet, the presence in the browser might just be a pre requisite… or at least we thought so for a while… Since we are working in the infrastructure of the internet, far from the web layer, we can add stuff to the UI that will make some huge differences in what people expect from a site.

The interaction will be driven by the users with tools and services developed by wwwraal.com and third parties using our APIs. Sounds fun? You bet!
